NRF 2012 Commanders meeting at the Joint Force Air Component

Commander NATO Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters Brunssum, General Wolf Langheld, invited the Commanders of the NATO Response Force (NRF) 2012 Component Commands for a Commanders' Conference from 18 to 20 January 2012 at the Joint Force Air Component Headquarters Kalkar, Germany.
The participating flag officers were welcomed by the commander of the Air Component Command, Lieutenant General Dieter Naskrent.
The event marked the initial step for quarterly conferences, where the Commanding Generals exchange current views and discuss the progress as well as future challenges of the NATO Response Force.
General Naskrent presented the additional capabilities of the Kalkar / Uedem barracks, for example the Combined Air Operation Centre Uedem as well as the German National Air Security Centre and the German Space Situational Awareness Centre.
The Commanders also received an overview of the rich history of the Lower Rhine area by visiting the heritage site of Roman Empire in the city of Xanten.
JFC Brunssum, the Netherlands is one of three NATO operational level commands in NATO Allied Command Operations (ACO). This year JFC Brunssum is in charge of NRF 2012.
