As International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission transition phase continues, key logisticians from NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters (JFC HQ) Brunssum, ISAF HQ and contributing nations focused on issues related to redeployment of troops and equipment during the 9th ISAF Strategic Logistic Planning Conference held in Brunssum, 8 to 9 February.

Meetings with national dignitaries center on nations’ support to ISAF mission

UN OCHA: Impartiality, key for confidence building

Wednesday, 8 February Andrew Wyllie, Chief Civil Military Coordination at UN OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) met the Chief of Staff NATO Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters Brunssum, Lieutenant General Jouke Eikelboom and Headquarters' key staff. Mr Wyllie also gave an introductory lecture on UN coordination work in humanitarian crisis to the Headquarters' personnel.

General Wolf Langheld, Commander NATO Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum emphasized JFC Brunssum’s role as out of theater operational Headquarters for the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission during his trip to Afghanistan. Meetings with the key civilian and military officials were part of his recent Situational Awareness Trip, from 24 to 29 January.
