JFC Tri-Border Walking Club
The JFC Brunssum Tri-Border Walking Club established in 1977 is one of several clubs that come under the umbrella of Facilities Management Branch of the Headquarters Support Group. The Club is a recreational wandeltocht/volksmarch club for the NATO military and civilian personnel and their families in the Tri-Border Community. Members participate in these walks throughout Europe, but primarily in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Our primary objective is to get together internationally in a spirit of general goodwill and camaraderie to promote public health, recreation and fun, to participate locally and internationally, and to encourage walking as a means of developing physical fitness and stamina.
The most common distances offered are 5, 10, 15 and 20 km. Routes can be through urban, rural or wooded areas but many are a combination of all three. Virtually all routes are scenic and there is no better way to see and experience the local countryside. Members participate in various walks that are professionally organized by local clubs as well as weekend trips to other exciting destinations planned by the Tri-Border Walking Club.
Membership fees are €20 for an individual membership or €35 for a family membership. This is a one time only fee that buys you a lifetime membership. NATO personnel and their families affiliated with military bases in the tri-border area are eligible to join. Membership forms may be found on the Notice Board outside the JFC Library, outside the Miner's Rest in the JFC HQ building, in the Teachers' Staff Room at AIS or contact our Walks Coordinator at: email@example.com
We're always looking for new members and people willing to serve on the executive committee. Please express your interest and we'd be happy to have you on board!
Take advantage of being in Europe! Walk along ancient cobblestone roads, through charming city gates, along peaceful pastures and let your eyes take in the beauty of Europe while your feet effortlessly take you there!
